Rep. Correa Releases Statement On End Of Government Shutdown

Washington, DC—Congressman Lou Correa, released the following statement about the end of the government shutdown.

Rep. Correa said,

“We all want to keep the government open. The best way to do this is to pass a budget on time. In September, I voted for a continuing resolution with the expectation we would pass a budget soon after. This fourth CR takes us further away from accomplishing that goal.

I firmly believe the only path forward is passing a bipartisan budget. CRs do not address our biggest challenges, like combating the opioid crisis, investing in our military and rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure.

To DREAMers across the nation losing their legal status, do not give up hope. My colleagues and I are fighting for you, and will not stop until you are safe.”
